~Dessert first please~

*PRALINE CHEESECAKE*

The one above I haven't had...but I LOVE Cheesecake so it has to be good!

*UPSIDEDOWN CARAMEL-PECAN APPLE PIE*
This one IS a little slice of Heaven!
I've had this one...from Mrs. Calleen Davis!
When you "dump" it over it doesn't look as pretty but...I can tell you...IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!!!!

I've been in the kitchen this morning like most of the women around the world!! I made 2 new desserts today! One I've tasted...and the other sounded too good to not try...you just can't go wrong with a cheesecake! I can't wait to try them!
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!! Enjoy time with you family!

~Simple Christmas~

Do I...Don't I...Do I...Don't I...put up a tree? If so...WHERE?
Well, today I decided that I HAD to put one up somewhere! So I cleared a little spot for a little tree! My Grandkids will be happy!!
Next year it will be Christmas as usual! But for now we'll celebrate in our cozy little house with our comfy little floor furnace! (I could spend hours standing over that!) I've asked Mike if we could take it with us to our new house...he said it had to stay here!! :(
Blessings to everyone during this Christmas season...no matter where you spend it at...the true meaning of Christmas is still the same!
JESUS' BIRTH!!

~*~CUTE Christmas Planner~*~

For those of you that are "list makers"....I ran across this on one of the blogs that I love to look at: http://www.executivehomemaker.com/wp-content/uploads/christmas-planner.pdf
It's a Christmas Planner list! I'm really good at making lists and trying to stick with them but for some reason...I fall of the wagon! This one is so cute though...I may have to make it happen!! Buckle up everyone...in case you didn't know...Christmas is right around the corner...literally!! =)

Surprise...Brick!

Well, once again we went out to check on progress over the lunch hour! I really didn't think we would find anything new because we're still waiting on our windows! We pulled up and...our Brick had been delivered!!! I didn't have my camera so I used the cell phone. I hate pics with that...the quality is always fuzzy! But...there you have it...Brick!

Working together...

I love watching my guys work together! When Brock was little I used to worry about Mike "over working" him! Now as Brock has become a husband and Daddy himself...it's all paid off! Brock is a very very hard worker and provider for his family! He's not afraid of work and will do what it takes to provide! Last year for Christmas Brock gave Mike a gift cert. for 2 days of farm work. Well Mike decided to cash in this weekend! Brock spent his Sunday afternoon helping build fence around our new house. He drove lots and lots of t-posts! It was neat to watch them work together again! They work good together! Thanks Brock we really really do appreciate your help! And as a Mother...I'm so proud of the Man you've become!! Love ya!
On Saturday when we drove up to the house site we saw our stone sitting there! That was exciting!! Now we're waiting on the windows! Production is slow right now...so we will just hurry up and wait!
Hope everyone has a great week and enjoy time with your families on Thanksgiving!

This and That!!

Road getting rocked to our new home!!! Very exciting! When it rains you weren't able get down this road which slows up building progress! So happy for this!

Not a lot of changes on the outside yet. Roof is complete. Inside plumbing and electrical will finish up today! Next...windows...brick/rock! Things are moving right along!

This picture just makes me smile!! This is my Grandma Tincy (my Mom's Mom). She is holding her GREAT GREAT Grandson baby Mac. Grandma is the one that suggested naming him Mac! About a month before delivery McKenzee asked her to help her come up with a name b/c she was having a hard time liking anything. Right away Grandma said...I've always liked the name Mac. So there you have it...Mac it is! What a fun story to tell someday that his Great Great Grandma named him! I hope I can have the spunk and energy that my Grandma has when (if) I'm her age! Grandma you are only 50 right? :) Love you lots Grandma!
This picture was taken at a baby shower for Mac & his Mommy on Nov. 8th (his actual due date). He is 3 1/2 wks. old in this picture.

Soups on!!

Well, I know the weather is supposed to be a little nicer this week but...I'm always on the look out for a good soup recipe! I found this Minestrone soup recipe over at Our Best Bites. Now the name kind of had me turn my nose up for a second but...after reading the ingredients...I think I'll give it a try! Especially since I have some Italian sausage in the freezer that I was wondering what to do with! I'll probably leave out the Zucchini too. I also like the idea that you can put it in the crock pot!

Here is a different one that I made the other day and hubby loved it!! After tweaking it just like I wanted it...it's Definitely a keeper!!

Tamale Soup
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion
1 clove garlic
1 small red bell pepper, chopped
1 can hominy
1 (15 oz.) can black beans
1 tsp. cumin
2 c. water
2 beef broth bouillon cubes
1 T. chili powder
1 small can chopped green chili's
2 cans tamales, shucked and quartered

Brown beef, draining well. Add onion, garlic, and pepper. Saute until tender. Add remaining ingredients except tamales. Simmer for 30 min. then add tamales and simmer for 15 more min.
* put in a bowl and top with cheese and sliced avocado's (optional)

For crockpot version: Do the same as above leaving out the tamales. Cook on low for 6-8 hrs. 30 min. prior to serving, add tamales and heat thoroughly.

If you have any good soup recipes you would like to share...just post in the comments! Have I told you before that I LOVE new recipes?!!

Walls Going Up...

Yeah...finally it's starting to look like something! Barn is going up and so is the house! If you look at the barn picture you can see the house in the background to the right of the piece of equipment.
The rain has really slowed us down. It makes our county road so muddy that the big trucks can't get through on them. In the farming industry you should never pray for NO rain but is it OK to ask for it to hold off for a few days?? :)

Mac David

First time to hold his new baby brother!

We are Grandparents once again! Mac David arrived into our family on October 15th at 7:54pm! Now...I have an October birthday buddy! I was sure hoping for that!

He was 7lbs. & 19 in. long (and...he was 3 1/2 wks. early!) I can't imagine how big he would have been if he would have staying in Mommy's tummy longer!

Getting older...

Preston~Aspen~Keegen

They love her SO much!!

I've been asked a lot if turning a year older (40) has bothered me...above is my reason why it simply doesn't matter!!! My 3 Grandkids...reason enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Cowboys!!

I know...I know...don't yell at me for what I'm about to say! My hubby doesn't read my blog so I should be safe!!!
THE MOST EXCITING PART for me about going to OSU football games is......what will I wear to the next game! This is my first year to really really commit to being a fan! Hubby has held season tickets for years and always tried to get me to go. Well, I don't have any good excuses to NOT go so...I'll cherish the time that I get to spend with my main man!!
My brain got to working and I decided to make my outfit for this Saturday's game! It was a lot of fun! Mike told me last night that he could have bought me LOTS of shirts for as long as it took me to make the one that I'm going to wear! I said yeah...but that takes the fun out of it! It's hard to see in the pics but there are little crystals that sparkle on the OSU on the shirt. The necklace was even more fun to make. Have you ever tried to find the perfect Pistol Pete to use on a project?? Anyway...if your at the game...above is what I'll be wearing!! GO COWBOYS!!!

Cake fun...

Molli's cake

McKenzee's cake

My Cake

Well...McKenzee, Molli, and I decided to take a cake decorating class! Like we don't have enough to do already! I took the Wilton class when McKenzee was a baby...21 yrs. ago. I wanted to brush up on my skills and the girls decided to go along with me.
Last night was our 2nd night and we got to decorate our 1st cake. I'll try and post the progress as we go along...

Where it all began...

My Mom's Mom & Dad
Tincy & Hubert (I feel so blessed to still have them in my life!)

My Dad's Mom & Dad
Jack & Betty (taken in 1976 3 yrs. before they passed away)

I was just sitting here today thinking back. I think the older I get the more memories mean to me! Does that really mean I'm getting older?? or just maturing!! Maturing sounds much better to me!
I hope someday when I'm way older...that my Grandkids will remember me and the memories that we make together. I want to leave them a legacy that will live in them forever! I want to be the "fun" MiMi. And more than anything I hope that I can be a Godly example to them and they can see Christ in me!

It's fun having little sisters...

What a LONG night! I had a funny conversation with my little sister on FB after we got home from the farm last night! Is she a CITY girl or what? Maybe she needs to visit the farm with me!! :) You would love it Kam! Remember the first time I made you touch RAW hamburger meat? Let's see...your 19...I think it was about 2 yrs. ago when you did that! And now your all grown up and going to college! Boy will you learn a LOT!! Love Ya... ;)

12:19amKamron
Amy??
12:19amAmy
yes
12:20amKamron
it's late
12:20amAmy
what are you still doing up?
12:20amKamron
I'm a little scared to go to bed! haha jk..
12:20amAmy
We just got home from the farm! Had calf problems...
12:20amKamron
aw no fun :(
12:20amAmy
had to get cow...donkey...and bull in
...from quiet a distance I might add
12:20amKamron
haha you still have that donkey?!
yuck.. I'm sorry!
12:21amAmy
bull was upset...donkey was upset...cow wouldn't cooperate
baby calf might die if not fed
12:21amKamron
Wow, what was the deal?
12:21amAmy
donkey is in the corral and headed SOMEWHERE tomorrow!
She wasn't letting the calf suck on her momma
she was kicking the cow in the head!
with her back legs
donkey thought she was the Mom of the calf so she was protecting
her from her own Momma and wouldn't let her suck!
12:22amKamron
oh my goodness!! What a violent little thing!
12:22amAmy
she almost made me cuss tonight!!
12:23amAmy
we had to come back to town and get medicine
and give it to the calf in a bottle to give it some strength
12:23amKamron
aw poor calf
12:23amAmy
and now...we'll just pray tonight that it makes it
through the night
12:23amKamron
awh!
12:24amKamron
Oh no!
12:24amAmy
If that calf dies...it will be all the donkey's fault!!!
we had to put the cow in the head chute and milk her
by hand and try to get the baby to suck
I smell like a giant baby bottle!!!!
12:25amKamron
Eww!!
12:25amAmy
tell me about it!
12:25amKamron
haha!
12:25amAmy
had calf crap on my arm too!!!
12:25amKamron
Oh my gosh.. I would have thrown up
12:25amAmy
I was a REAL farm girl tonight!
almost drove off a cliff too!
quiet an experience
12:26amKamron
I'm a little proud of you.. I would not have
been able to do that. No way?!
12:26amAmy
it's been a while for me!
12:26amKamron
That's scary
12:26amAmy
it was pitch black out there by the time we got them rounded
up to the corral! And not to mention...the bull is completely
black and we had to watch our backs or he would have
charged us and we would have never seen him coming!
12:27amKamron
Wow!! So basically you could have died tonight or
been majorly injured
12:27amAmy
YES MAAM!! (not really)
12:27amKamron
I don't think a calf is worth it! haha
12:27amAmy
well...when you sell them it is!!
12:28amKamron
I would pick my life over money!
12:28amAmy
well, I would too but...Mike had my back
12:28amKamron
Lol
12:29amAmy
I also rode across the field with the calf in the back
of the pick up and me holding her!
I sat on a half eaten salt block...those are sharp!
12:29amKamron
I don't even know what a salt block is! haha..
But it doesn't sound comfortable
12:29amAmy
wish I would have had a camera...it would
have been something fun to blog about!
12:29amKamron
haha! That was my next question.
Have you blogged about it yet?!
12:29amAmy
IT'S A BIG SQUARE BLOCK OF SALT
THAT THE CATTLE LICK ON
12:30amKamron
Sick nasty.
12:31amKamron
Well I'm glad it was you and not me! I think I'll just
live in the city and not have any animals...
besides Rusty (the dog)

(NOTE: Calf made it through the night! Yeah!! We'll see what today brings...)
