Double Trouble Wednesday...

Wednesday's are my "fun" MiMi day! I was blessed to get to have both of the youngest grandkids! It's always Aspen's day so when she had to deal with Mac...she was a little concerned that she wouldn't get my full attention! Once she adjusted, we had a fun day!

Cheers!

Lunchtime!

WooHoo...Poppy's home! Aspen's favorite place to be on Wednesday's. His lap eating his food...ps...she had already had lunch!

After Mac went home we went outside to play a bit. First time she has ever even shown interest in the cats! Poor kitty's...she mauled them to death...and the silly things let her!!

I think that's a "hug" or she's hiking it back into her arms!

Awww...sweet kitty! KISS!!

"I have a free hand...GIVE me another one!!!"

Walkin' on the rocks barefooted...totin' the cats! Again...Poor Kitty's!

New Found Love...QUILTING!

Easy Peasy 9 patch!! The Possibilities are endless! I'm all about a "short cut" and let me tell you it can't get any easier than this!!

First pick out your fabrics! Using a 6 1/2 x 24 ruler cut strips of fabric that size...then using a 1/4 in. seam sew the three strips together. Press open seams. After sewing then turn your fabric and cut 3 strips 6 1/2 wide. You will have a little bit left over that you can use on another project some other day!

Place them together matching up your seams and sew them up. Keep in mind that in the finished quilt the outer corners will be the largest and the middle square will be the smallest.

After all is sewn together and all seams are pressed open find the center and cut that baby in half both ways! Yes...for me...this was hard the first time! I felt like I was "messing" up my quilt! But trust me....you'll love the outcome!

Turn the blocks however you like and then sew them together again! I turned and turned until I came up with the design I loved!

Can't wait to finish this! I'll post a picture when I do!

Too Close for Comfort!

This got a little too close for me! I was home alone and could hear the sirens going off in town. I decided instead of pacing the floor that I would go outside and join it! The clouds were moving faster than I could take pictures. I was amazed! The cattle were huddling and that made me a little nervous! I've always heard that animals can sense a storm. But for some crazy reason I seemed calmer outside where I could see and hear what was going on! I've never taken storm pictures before and was sure wishing I had a new camera to use!! Maybe next time!

NEW Recipe...it's a keeper!!!

My Daughter in law, Molli, hosted a party at my house tonight! She brought delicious cupcakes (she made) & fruit:

And then we decided we needed something other than sweets! So...I rummaged through my cabinets and came up with this:
(I will DEFINITELY make it again! YUMMMM)

Jalapeno Party Dip
Recipe by MiMi's Mumblings

2 (8-oz.) packages cream cheese, softened (light works)
1 c. mayonnaise (light will work...but NO Miracle Whip!)
1/2 c. parmesan cheese (buy the wedge and grate it yourself, pre-shredded doesn't melt as well)
1 c. shredded cheddar/jack cheese
1 (4-oz.) can green chilies
1/2-1 (4-oz.) can diced jalapeno peppers, drained
(1/2 can is mild with a little bite, a whole can is spicier...adjust to your liking!)
4 garlic cloves, minced

Preheat oven to 350. In a medium bowl, combine the ingredients and spread into a small baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes or until dip is bubbly and golden brown. Serve with Tortilla chips!
