Surprise...Brick!

Well, once again we went out to check on progress over the lunch hour! I really didn't think we would find anything new because we're still waiting on our windows! We pulled up and...our Brick had been delivered!!! I didn't have my camera so I used the cell phone. I hate pics with that...the quality is always fuzzy! But...there you have it...Brick!

Working together...

I love watching my guys work together! When Brock was little I used to worry about Mike "over working" him! Now as Brock has become a husband and Daddy himself...it's all paid off! Brock is a very very hard worker and provider for his family! He's not afraid of work and will do what it takes to provide! Last year for Christmas Brock gave Mike a gift cert. for 2 days of farm work. Well Mike decided to cash in this weekend! Brock spent his Sunday afternoon helping build fence around our new house. He drove lots and lots of t-posts! It was neat to watch them work together again! They work good together! Thanks Brock we really really do appreciate your help! And as a Mother...I'm so proud of the Man you've become!! Love ya!
On Saturday when we drove up to the house site we saw our stone sitting there! That was exciting!! Now we're waiting on the windows! Production is slow right now...so we will just hurry up and wait!
Hope everyone has a great week and enjoy time with your families on Thanksgiving!

This and That!!

Road getting rocked to our new home!!! Very exciting! When it rains you weren't able get down this road which slows up building progress! So happy for this!

Not a lot of changes on the outside yet. Roof is complete. Inside plumbing and electrical will finish up today! Next...windows...brick/rock! Things are moving right along!

This picture just makes me smile!! This is my Grandma Tincy (my Mom's Mom). She is holding her GREAT GREAT Grandson baby Mac. Grandma is the one that suggested naming him Mac! About a month before delivery McKenzee asked her to help her come up with a name b/c she was having a hard time liking anything. Right away Grandma said...I've always liked the name Mac. So there you have it...Mac it is! What a fun story to tell someday that his Great Great Grandma named him! I hope I can have the spunk and energy that my Grandma has when (if) I'm her age! Grandma you are only 50 right? :) Love you lots Grandma!
This picture was taken at a baby shower for Mac & his Mommy on Nov. 8th (his actual due date). He is 3 1/2 wks. old in this picture.

Soups on!!

Well, I know the weather is supposed to be a little nicer this week but...I'm always on the look out for a good soup recipe! I found this Minestrone soup recipe over at Our Best Bites. Now the name kind of had me turn my nose up for a second but...after reading the ingredients...I think I'll give it a try! Especially since I have some Italian sausage in the freezer that I was wondering what to do with! I'll probably leave out the Zucchini too. I also like the idea that you can put it in the crock pot!

Here is a different one that I made the other day and hubby loved it!! After tweaking it just like I wanted it...it's Definitely a keeper!!

Tamale Soup
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion
1 clove garlic
1 small red bell pepper, chopped
1 can hominy
1 (15 oz.) can black beans
1 tsp. cumin
2 c. water
2 beef broth bouillon cubes
1 T. chili powder
1 small can chopped green chili's
2 cans tamales, shucked and quartered

Brown beef, draining well. Add onion, garlic, and pepper. Saute until tender. Add remaining ingredients except tamales. Simmer for 30 min. then add tamales and simmer for 15 more min.
* put in a bowl and top with cheese and sliced avocado's (optional)

For crockpot version: Do the same as above leaving out the tamales. Cook on low for 6-8 hrs. 30 min. prior to serving, add tamales and heat thoroughly.

If you have any good soup recipes you would like to share...just post in the comments! Have I told you before that I LOVE new recipes?!!
