Bado and his best friend...

We were always told how "funny" basset hounds are... It couldn't be more true!!

Blurry, but I just had to share what we often look out the window and see! Bado and Mr. Grey on their perch!  Our vicious guard dog and guard cat!

This was the best picture I could get tonight of some of our funniness here on the farm! This was taken through the window holding back the blinds and hollering at sweet Bado hoping he didn't jump down!  Who wouldn't want a Basset?!?!

Never mind the poor drought stricken potted plants in the back ground!  They held on as long as they could!

Bado Bean!

Not sure why he's acquired the name Bado Bean but it just seems to fit!  I've always heard that Basset Hounds were a dog with a HUGE personality!  There isn't a day that goes by that we don't laugh at something he does!  One of us will look out the back door and holler "come here, you have to see what he's doing now!"  You never know what position he'll be laying in or hanging off the back step from!  I've completely given up on the idea of having clean windows on my back door!  I think he's obsessed with Windex because every time I clean the door...he's licking off where I've just sprayed and wiped!  I give up!  He's brought lots of laughter into our life!!  I think he's a keeper!!!

Bado's Saturday...on the farm

Several people told us that we did NOT want a Basset Hound because they were lazy dogs and didn't do anything!  And we would respond with...that's exactly why we want one!  This is a prime example of his laziness!  He opened his eyes when he saw me and quickly closed them letting me know he didn't want to be bothered right now!  Perfect kind of dog for me!

What was I thinking???

Well, Never say Never!!  I said NEVER again will I have another dog!  But I've always wanted a Basset Hound and I had a VERY weak moment.  We kind of like this little fella!  If you're from my neck of the woods, then you know where we came up with his name. It took a blond (my little sis) to help us name him!  Poor little guy didn't have a name for 4 days.  Thanks Kam glad you took a ride with me tonight and glad you read the sign! Duh...why didn't I think of that?!
